Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado Gala
On behalf of our Board of Directors, Gala Committee and Honorary Chairs, Brooke and Tom Gordon, we want to extend our deepest appreciation to the all those who contributed and attended the 2013 Gala, Pearls at the Palace, on April 20th, 2013 at the Brown Palace.
Due to the tremendous support, Pearls at the Palace raised $225,000 with the Brown Palace Ballroom filled to capacity! We are so grateful to everyone who helped make our largest fund raising event of the year an evening to remember. In honor of our theme, The Sweatshop Dance Academy performed the beautiful story of the amazing and unique development of a pearl, paralleling the life of a person living with epilepsy during “The Body, The Life, the Pearl”.
We have posted the evening’s special Gala video Hope, featuring the Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado’s leadership volunteers Brooke and Tom Gordon, Kate Petrocco, Craig Fleishman and Steve Franzen below. Featured speaker Brandon Speer, former camper and current student at CU Boulder, spoke bravely of his battle with depression and brought guests to their feet for his courageous voice that rang clearly with hope for so many who face similar struggles. We are very pleased to let you know the Jason Fleishman Summer Camp Special Appeal raised almost $60,000, assuring 100 campers will enjoy this nationally recognized, week-long camp for youth with epilepsy.
Without question, the outpouring of support, passion and generosity of our guests and contributors was over-whelming. Again, our deepest appreciation for assuring the Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado provides year-round programs for youth, families and adults, who need our help the most.
