The 2021 nationwide Walk to END EPILEPSY is a movement that brings our community together to make a difference for the people we love who live with epilepsy. This year our participants, donors and sponsors helped raise nearly $200,000 to support critical programs and services in our community!
Funds raised from the Walk provide education and awareness, training programs on seizure recognition and first aid, as well as improved access to specialty and supportive care for the nearly 65,000 people affected by epilepsy in Colorado and Wyoming.
In order to gather safely to walk together, our commitment to the health and safety of our participants is our utmost priority. We will follow current local and state public health orders and request that all unvaccinated participants wear a mask and practice social distancing.
To further ensure the health and safety of participants we will have separate start times (waves) for walkers, which are currently limited. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your designated wave time.
With the lifting of crowd size limitations, day-of registration will be available starting at 8 am. Children under 18 must be registered by an adult legally able to sign a waiver on their behalf.
It is FREE to participate in the Walk to END EPILEPSY. However, we have so many great fundraising tools – including email templates, with Facebook capability, and more – that make it easy for you to help us raise awareness and funds to support Coloradans living with epilepsy.

The in-person routes are 5K around some of Colorado’s prettiest urban parks. If you’re planning a neighborhood walk, you can make it as long or as short as you want it to be!
Yes, well-behaved, leashed dogs are always welcome!
Yes! For those diagnosed with epilepsy, the Walk to END EPILEPSY is an opportunity to learn about the Epilepsy Foundation’s services and to connect with others living with epilepsy. During registration, indicate that you live with epilepsy and you’ll receive a FREE T-shirt, either at the event if you attend in person or mailed to you before the event date.
Register to walk by clicking on the Register Now button for the location nearest you. You’ll be redirected to our RunSignUp page for that event. Follow the steps to register in person or as a virtual participant.
Note that while fundraising is not required to participate in the Walk to END EPILEPSY, RunSignUp does require you create a participant page where you can share your story and have the option to fundraise. You can also create a Facebook Fundraiser during the registration process. The average person raises $150 using Fundraise with Facebook – you may be surprised who donates to your fundraiser!
During registration, you will have the option of registering as an individual or you can join a team or form a new one. To join an existing team, either go to the team page link sent to you by your team captain or search for your team name during registration.
Team Captains are the heart of Walk! As a Team Captain, you’ll recruit a team of family, friends, and co-workers, help them fundraise, keep them motivated, and have fun fighting for a great cause in the process. You will also have access to a Team Fundraising Page and numerous tools to make your team a success.
Bring your quaranteam, your pod, or your bubble – but stick to social distancing guidelines. All participants should follow CDC and local health recommendations when deciding to walk with those outside of their household.
Returning Team Captains should register first, starting a team with the team name from last year. Then use our email templates or share our Facebook events to encourage team members to register for your team.
If you attend our in-person events, you can pick up your fundraising or Living with Epilepsy T-shirt at the registration tent. If you register as a virtual participant, your shirt(s) will be mailed to you before the event.
There are so many easy ways to start fundraising for the Walk to END EPILEPSY! During registration, you will set up a personal fundraising page. You can forward that link to family and friends via email or social media to encourage them to donate.
You will also be given the opportunity to set up a Facebook Fundraiser, which is quick and painless – and you just might be surprised how many people will support you! We also have plenty of other fundraising ideas and tips and tools in our Resources section.
You can share a link to your participant page with friends and family via email or social media. Your Facebook Fundraiser will also display how close you are to reaching your fundraising goal, and you can share the fundraiser repeatedly to encourage additional donations.
Many employers offer programs to match charitable contributions made by their employees. These “matching gifts” are an opportunity to double or possibly triple your donation to Walk to END EPILEPSY.

Participants who use a Facebook Fundraiser raise, on average, $150 more than other fundraisers.
If you didn’t set up your fundraiser during registration, it’s easy to go back and set it up!
First, sign in to your RunSignUp profile. Scroll down to your Fundraising section of your profile and click on your fundraiser name to go to your fundraising page. Click on the “Create Your Fundraiser” on Facebook button.
You may have been registered as a Sub-Account of another person. If so, log in to your account and click “Create Separate Profile for this Sub-Account.”
You will need to have a unique email address (one that has not already been used in RunSignUp) and password to create a separate profile. Please email email@example.com if you need further assistance.

Yes! Your donation to the Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado is 100% tax deductible since you are not receiving anything in exchange for your donation. You’ll be emailed a copy of your receipt for your records.

While the Epilepsy Foundation does not accept donations via Venmo or PayPal, you can use your personal Venmo account to collect donations from friends and family and then submit them as a lump credit/debit card payment via your participant page.
For our guests who need accessible parking, we have secured the East High School parking lot at 2401 E 16th Ave.
We will have two six-passenger golf carts shuttling participants from the high school to the Pavilion to minimize how far you’ll have to walk.
